Victor is a PhD student across the Green Chemistry Centre of Excellence and SEI-York, and a sustainability professional working for Reckitt, a global Health, Hygiene and Nutrition consumer goods company.
Victor's research focuses on the implementation of green chemistry metrics within industry, especially during the design phase of consumer goods, and the challenges associated with data exchange through the supply chain.
Victor graduated from York with a BSc in Chemistry, and has spent the last 15 years at Reckitt, across medicine regulation, systems and processes, and for the last 6 years in the corporate sustainability team, focused on ingredient resilience and product sustainability. He is pursuing his PhD as an integral part of his role, as part of the EPSRC-funded Mobility Doctoral Training Partnership in "Leadership and Excellence in Circular, Resource-efficient, Sustainable Manufacturing", a pilot programme intended to increase mobility between industry and academia.
He is interested in all things eco-design, with particular interest in how product developers make decisions and reconcile the sustainability dimension with business pressures and consumer expectations.
