Luke is a Research Associate working on the Ecological Citizens project, and is passionate about promoting equitable futures for communities of all types: communities with healthy places to live, work, and take leisure.
Prior to going into research, Luke worked within the builders’ merchant industry, focusing on sustainable building projects. Luke has a Masters in Resource Management and a PhD on the effect of the Green Deal policy on homeowners and commercial stakeholders. Luke’s research then moved on to focus on stakeholder involvement in retrofit decision-making in a commercial building environment. This research took place as part of a joint project between Heriot Watt University and the Middle East Technical University in Ankara, funded by TÜBİTAK. Most recently, Luke has been a research associate within the EnergyREV consortium funded by UK Research and Innovation through the Industrial Strategy Challenge Fund, working with large demonstration Smart Local Energy System (SLES) projects to explore their stakeholder engagement strategies.
