Gaurav is a Research Associate at SEI York, where he contributes to projects on emissions from private sector under the Alliance for Clean Air and Supporting National Action and Planning (SNAP) on Short-Lived Climate Pollutants (SLCPs) initiative.
Gaurav completed his PhD from Indian Institute of Technology Delhi, where his research work focused on estimating air pollution from basic infrastructure sectors in an urban-rural district and assessing disparities in exposure and contribution among various population groups.
His research experience spans across various facets of air quality management including air quality measurement and modelling, development and implementation of air pollution mitigation strategies, undertaking pilot studies to support air pollution mitigation, and stakeholder engagement. He has experience of supporting Indian cities in developing and implementing control strategies to reduce air pollution levels under the National Clean Air Programme (NCAP), a flagship program of the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change, Government of India.
