Anjali is the Communications Assistant at SEI York.
She supports the Communications Specialists and Manager with the team’s day-to-day activities. She writes for and manages both the SEI York and University of York web-pages, creates content for the SEI social media channels, and assembles SEI York’s internal and external newsletters. She also provides ad hoc support on specific project work.
Since graduating with her degree in English and Related Literature from the University of York, she has been an actor and agent, and worked in experiential marketing and field sales, academic publishing marketing, as well as enjoying a brief spell as a researcher on CBBC hit show, Horrible Histories. In 2018, she returned to the English department and has recently completed her PhD, alongside undergraduate teaching. Her thesis was entitled "Anthropocentrism, Attentiveness, and Nonhumanity in Early Modern England, 1575-1660". She enjoys putting these parallel research interests to use in the real world while working with SEI.
