Biography

Andy joined SEI York in November 2024 to provide support for grant applications and research administration.

Andy has worked in research support at the University of York since April 2018, when he joined the Department of Environment and Geography as a Research Administrator. In January 2021 he joined the UKRI funded Pyramids of Life: Working with Nature for a Sustainable Future project, which advocates the use of novel approaches to manage UK capture fisheries more sustainably, as project coordinator and research assistant.

Andy has a keen interest in history and archaeology, and holds an MA in Landscape Archaeology and a PhD in Archaeology, both from the University of Sheffield. His doctoral research focused on the role of metalwork deposition in defining and structuring places in the cultural geographies of Bronze Age communities in north east England.
