The dataset on Social and Environmental Conditions in Rural Areas (SECRA) was intended to encourage and enable researchers and policy makers to include both social and environmental perspectives in their consideration of rural problems.
The dataset uses Population Census 2001 Super Output Areas (SOAs) as its base units and includes data for all rural SOAs in England. The dataset consists of the boundaries of the SOAs, associated tables and the metadata for each variable. These can be cross-referenced with the variables described in the SECRA report.
