Hi everyone, my name is Raj and I'm an Access and Outreach Officer at the University of York. I love working with young people like yourself. I am the first in my family to go to university and it was the best thing I ever did. My advice to you all is that if you want to go to university, work hard and study what you enjoy. As long as you gain a good degree, lots of the skills gained can be transferred to lots of future careers.

Hello there, my name is Susan and I work on supporting many of the Access and Outreach projects. Hi, I’m Sophie and I’m an intern for the Key Stage 3/4 Learning Hub! I’ve just completed my degree in Politics and International Relations with a year in industry, which means that I spent one year of my four year course working full time at a consulting firm. I hope you find the resources and activities on our web pages useful! My top tip is to set small goals for yourself so that you can easily measure the progress you are making and so that you can feel proud every time you reach one of your targets. Try to stay focused during your work time, but also remember that it’s really important to take breaks as well!
Hi, my name is Melissa and I am one of the Key Stage 3/4 interns creating the content for the Learning Hub! I am a second year Biomedical Sciences student at York, and I am starting a placement year at GlaxoSmithKline in London in September. I know it can be hard to stay motivated at the minute, but my advice would be to create to-do lists so you can keep on top of your work and break down tasks into bite-size sections. I hope you find this site useful, and please don’t hesitate to get in touch if you have any questions, no matter how big or small!
