While all subjects at school have their value in everyday life, English and Maths are skills that are particularly important, no matter where life takes you.

On this page, we’ll be sharing some English and Maths resources, as well as hosting a Live Q&A! The page will be updated weekly, so watch this space.

Finding some topics a bit tricky?

Last week, you told us about some of the English and Maths topics you find most difficult. Well, our Student Ambassadors have been working hard, and have put together some tips and links to help you out.

English

  • Look for worksheets by searching for ‘analysing persuasive texts’ in a search engine. This might give you a structure to work from, and help you know what to look for!
  • BBC Bitesize has a good page on persuasive texts - take a look!
  • Have you seen this Poetry Toolkit?
  • There are also lots of template worksheets online, to help you structure your analysis - have a look around!
  • Need to go back to basics with grammar? Take a look at these useful worksheets.

Maths

  • Maths Kitchen has lots of resources, and you don’t need to sign up for an account either. You can have a virtual lesson, or complete questions.
  • On NRICH Maths, you can find games, puzzles and questions, which can be searched by topic or year group.

Live Q&A

Every Tuesday until the end of term (30th June, 7th July, 14th July), we’ll be hosting a Live Q&A, where we’ll have Student Ambassadors on hand to help you out with any particularly tricky English and Maths concepts between 4pm and 5pm.

Feel free to ask about a question in particular you’ve been a bit stuck on, or a concept in general that you’re not too sure about!

Remember! Only use your first name and don't share any personal details.
