Ambisonic Decoders

Surround sound decoding for multiple loudspeaker layouts

For the configuration files compatible with the original SADIE binaural database please look here (human and binaural maniquins) or here (human only).

Please find below a selection of Ambisonic decoder configuration files, compatible with the SADIE II Database, designed for different loudspeaker configurations up to 5th Order. Each decoder is compatible with every HRIR data set. >> Highlighted decoders are also compatible with the BRIR data sets. The config. files can be used with compatible VST plugins that use the AMBIX format.

Files should be placed within the 'subject_HRIR_WAV' or 'subject_BRIR_WAV' folders at the same level as the three sampling/bit-rate option folders. The configuration files are designed to be used at a sampling rate of 48KHz. If you wish to change this then you may open the file in any text editor and use ctl+f to find and replace '48K_24bit' with either '44K_16bit' or '96K_24bit'. The decode matrices presented within the config. files are in ACN/SN3D format.

The configuration files were generated using the Ambistronix Library, developed by Cal Armstrong at the Audio Lab, which has not yet been officially released. In the meantime, if you do not see your loudspeaker configuration listed then you should look at the excellent Ambisonic Toolbox which can be found here.

Download individual config. files or opt for the Entire Set in a single .zip folder here.
