Boston, MA, USACall for papers: Special Track on Swarm and Modular Robotics (SAMR)
The fields of swarm robotics and modular robotics are closely related and are concerned with the problem of coordinating the behaviour of a group of relatively simple mobile embodied agents. Coordination is achieved in a distributed and self-organising manner, reliant entirely upon local sensing and communication. There are significant challenges in both areas, especially moving from simulation to physical hardware, and also developing larger scale, deployable solutions in real-world scenarios.
The objective of this special track on Swarm and Modular Robotics is to provide a forum for researchers and industry practitioners to exchange ideas and discuss the latest developments and challenges in this fast moving area. The track hopes to promote novel hardware and software development and potential industrial exploitation.
This special track seeks high-quality original and unpublished papers in the following topics, including but not limited to:
- Mathematical and computational models of ants, social systems and other forms of inspiration for swarm and modular robotic systems
- Algorithms for swarm and modular robotic systems
- Hardware developments for swarm and modular robotic systems
- Simulation of swarm and modular robotic systems
- Experimental analysis for swarm and modular robotic systems
- Experimental infrastructure
- Evolutionary swarm and modular robotics
