3. Data access statements

Data access statements are used in publications to describe where supporting data can be found and under what conditions they can be accessed.

Many funders’ data policies and the UKRI Open Access Policy (for ‘in-scope research articles’) require data access statements. Data access statements should, therefore, be included, where relevant, in the thesis for published papers and papers in preparation for publication.
