Public Engagement Events

Research terms or consortia thereof are invited to bid for funding to lead on a series of public engagement events that should be designed providing advice, information and feedback to different ‘publics’

• in respect to the social, economic and political aspects of somatic and embryonic stem cell research
• to map and report on publics’ perception of the field over time
• to feed these results into the UK Cross Council Initiative on Stem Cells

One of these events should be explicitly targeted at schoolchildren to give them a sense of a career in social science research and its role and contribution in science and technology.

These public engagements events should be designed in collaboration with the SCI office in York.

Funding of up to £4k is available for each event and applicants are asked to note that this is administered through the Stem Cell Office at York University.
