Shelagh Sneddon
Project Research Fellow
Shelagh is the project's Research Fellow, producing all the transcriptions, editions and translations of the inquisition texts; something she also did for the 2011 book Inquisitors and Heretics in Thirteenth-Century Languedoc, which edited and translated the registers contained in Doat 25-26. She has had a long and varied career in editing, translating and cataloguing medieval texts, from the Latin religious lyrics of the Las Huelgas codex to the records of the medieval English parliament and their associated petitions.
Her most recent post has been as Assistant Editor on the British Academy's Dictionary of Medieval Latin from British Sources. Her research interests include the notaries and scribes who produced the inquisition documents, and ethnic cleansing in Scottish monasteries during the Wars of Independence.
