The purpose of our external support is to act as gatekeepers to areas of the cord blood sector where access may be difficult to achieve. Along with our interviewees, they also alert us to emerging aspects of cord blood and stem cell science, which we might not have previously been aware of, therefore encouraging new directions of the project. Finally, they provide critical feedback on working papers and allow us to confirm scientific, medical and procedural aspects relating to cord blood banking, transplants and research. We have met once so far with our advisory panel and our consultants. The powerpoint presentation slides relating to these meetings are available here. We are hoping to meet twice before the end of the project.
