This privacy notice is for researchers at other organisations being costed into collaborative research bids with researchers at the University of York.
It sets out the ways in which the University of York gathers, uses, stores and shares your data. It also sets out how long we keep your data and what rights you have in relation to your data under the UK General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and Data Protection Act 2018.

Data is provided either directly by you when jointly submitting a funded research bid or by your organisation.
Personal data including: name, job title, email address, research profile and salary information for purposes of costing and pricing a research proposal.
Data will be processed for purposes of preparing and submitting research funding bids. In line with our charter which states that we advance learning and knowledge by teaching and research, the University processes personal data for research purposes under Article 6 (1) (e) of the UK GDPR:
Processing is necessary for the performance of a task carried out in the public interest
Where successful, data will form part of the research record.
Data may be shared with other collaborators involved in the collaborative funding bid as well as external funding bodies.
