Profile

Biography

I previously completed my BSc in Psychology at the University of York. For my BSc project I investigated how binocular summation of activity in the visual cortex and reflexive eye movements are affected in individuals with cortical blindness and amblyopia, using EEG and eye tracking. During this time, I also assisted with multiple different projects taking place in the EEG lab and neuroimaging centre, assessing cortical responses to scene aesthetics and visual symmetry respectively.

Career

  • PhD in Cognitive Neuroscience and Neuroimaging, University of York, 2022-present
  • Research Assistant for Dr Daniel Kaiser, University of York, 2020-2021
  • BSc in Psychology, University of York, 2019-2022

Departmental roles

  • Graduate Teaching Assistant

Research

Overview

Measuring the role and plasticity of audio-visual integration in human depth perception

Projects

My research focusses on the audio-visual integration of perception and how this aids 3D depth perception of static and moving sound sources and visual objects. As well as how such perception is affected by systematically mis-matched auditory and visual stimuli. Using EEG and fMRI, I hope to analyse the temporal and spatial activation of neuronal computations of multisensory integration.
