Research
Overview
My research interests include bi-/multilingualism and its role as a possible cognitive/brain protective life-long experience, cognitive functioning in bilinguals, individual differences and language switching, dementia and healthy aging, brain functioning, brain structure and neurochemistry in healthy aging and dementia. I’m passionate about Open Scholarship and doing and teaching better science.
Projects
I’m working on the MultiAge bilingualism and aging project that aims to understand how bilingual speakers’ (a majority in the world’s population) language changes as they age in a healthy way and with mild cognitive impairment. The project particularly investigates speakers of heritage minority languages in the UK.
