Psychology at York is one of the most research-intensive departments in the UK. In the Times Higher Education's ranking of the most recent nationwide assessment of research quality (REF 2021) Psychology and Neuroscience at the University of York was rated in the UK top ten for research excellence.

Our staff
There are around 50 members of academic staff as well as a technical and administrative team to support research and teaching. We also have around 50 full-time and part-time PhD students.
Facilities
The Psychology department is in an attractive location on the main University campus and occupies modern purpose-built accommodation and is furnished with state-of-the-art research and computer equipment. All our research postgraduates are provided with their own desk and computer and have full access to laboratory facilities.
We have excellent specialised research facilities at the University including the York Neuroimaging Centre (YNIC) as well as links to external facilities where our research is conducted.
