Three more weeks to go! But there is still plenty of politics (and related events) going on. As usual the Coffee Morning will be on Wednesday from 09:30-11:00 in the Politics Reception. Do come along for a free pastry and a cup of coffee to warm you up as winter starts to set in.
Shut-up and Write sessions will be in D/N/130 on Tuesday from 14:00-16:00 With formative deadlines looming these are a great opportunity to get some focussed writing done in a supportive environment.
Finally, the PolSoc Christmas dinner is at 7pm Tuesday 12th December at Ask Italian. The meal will cost £27.50 and tickets can be booked online (cut off is the 8th December). There are limited tickets so act fast if you want to go along.

At this year's IGDC annual lecture Professor Kothari will argue that conceiving of the past as irrelevant has devastating consequences for our concerns for justice. They will go on to show how decolonising development demands consideration of the past that goes beyond the symbolic to perform the critical, material work of redistribution. In this context, they offer ways to redress inequalities reproduced today as the past continues to push unfinished into the present and to unfold new radical, progressive insights.
The lecture will be followed by a drinks reception in the Environment Foyer.

Polsoc is hosting a Polsoc v Policy night. The premise is for people to submit silly legislation ideas which will then be debated and voted on. It looks like a fun night of insightful/silly policy and esoteric debate!
