Current PhD Opportunities

The Department of Politics and International Relations is a leading centre for teaching and research. Our research is organised across four research clusters, each with a disciplinary focus. Our research clusters are: Comparative Politics and Public Policy; International Studies; Political Economy; and Political Theory.

 

We offer a wide range of funding to students from the UK and overseas. We have opportunities funded by research councils, the University and the department as well as opportunities for self-funding students and those with scholarships from their home country.

 

There are scholarships or studentships sourced from external research grants, including:

• White Rose Social Sciences Doctoral Training Partnership studentships 
• White Rose College of the Arts and Humanities studentships
