Welcome back everybody. I  hope  you all had a good break and are refreshed for the last part of the semester. As always there is plenty going on around campus to get involved in so do check out the following.

Indigenous land struggles: Transregional perspectives across Asia and Africa

This first webinar in a series organised by the IGDC and the Centre for Asian Studies in Africa at the University of Pretoria, South Africa explores how indigenous people’s mobilizations for political recognition, electoral influence and social justice are entangled with struggles for land in various Asian and African countries. 

Research ethics in the social sciences (20 year retrospective)

Twenty years on, this roundtable convenes investigators foundational in the development of ethics review in the social sciences with scholars of research regulation to reflect on where we are today. We will discuss the evolution of opportunities and challenges related to research ethics and its regulation, situating these insights in relation to the broader evolution of the research landscape in the UK and the world.
