Well, it looks like we are in for a warm(er) week this week with the sun finally making an appearance. But for those of you looking for something to do between walks around the lakes, plenty is going on!
First off I am glad to announce that we can offer some bursaries to cover travel and accommodation for the 2024 PSA Undergraduate conference in Glasgow. If you are interested in attending, come along to D/N/104 at 4 pm on Wednesday 21st February to hear more about how to apply and what the conference is like. Drinks and snacks will be provided.
Shut up and Write is at the usual time of 12-2 pm on Mondays (today), but there has been a change of room for this week. We are in CL/A/026 come along for a cup of coffee and a chance to get some focussed writing done. (there are biscuits too!)
Finally, the Politics Coffee Morning will be running as usual on Wednesday from 09:30 - 11:00 in the Politics Reception. I look forward to seeing you there for a chill start to the day.

Martin Jones, Senior Lecturer in International Human Rights Law and Kelly Devenney, Senior Lecturer in Social Policy will be answering questions on the concept of crisis, the relationship of the EU/UK and refugee protection, social policies and more. We are also selling SolidariTee T-shirts, posters and stickers at the end of the panel – all proceeds go to legal and psychological refugee aid. No tickets needed but donations are welcome.

City Screen Picturehouse, in partnership with Ukrainian Society from the University of York and Ukrainian Hub Preston, invites you to a screening of the Oscar-nominated Ukrainian documentary "20 Days In Mariupol”. Link to trailer
The screening will be accompanied by the photography exhibition, "The Wonder Wounded Land". It will feature the works of Ukrainian photographers who captured the contrast between the peaceful life Ukrainians once knew and the destruction caused by Russia’s actions.
