New project for Professor Jean Grugel

Funded by the European Commission and UKRI, Understanding Latin American Challenges in the 21st Century - LAC-EU is a 3 million euro project that will explore a the challenges of contemporary governance in Latin America. With partners from leading institutions in Latin America and Europe, the four year research programme will deliver a will provide a comprehensive and interdisciplinary framework for understanding LAC and its relationship with the EU and promote non-Eurocentric understandings of Latin America and its global relationships. Professor Jean Grugel leads two strands of research within the consortium: civil society responses to de-democratization and the promotion of the reproductive health rights of women and girls in the region.
