Thalia Gerzso's research paper, "Judicial Resistance during Electoral Disputes: Evidence from Kenya," published in the journal Electoral Studies, has been recognised with two prestigious accolades, underscoring its significant impact on the study of African politics and qualitative methods. The paper has been honoured with the Alexander L. George Award and received an Honourable Mention for the Best Article in African Politics.
The Alexander L. George Award, presented by the Qualitative and Multi-Method Research section of the American Political Science Association (APSA), celebrates exceptional contributions to qualitative and multi-method research in political science.
In addition, Thalia's paper was recognised with an Honourable Mention for the Best Article in African Politics by the African Politics Conference Group (APCG). The award committee praised the work for its insightful analysis, stating that it offers "a compelling and rigorous examination of African political dynamics." The judges also emphasised the paper's contribution to understanding judicial processes, governance, and electoral disputes in Kenya, providing rich empirical evidence and theoretical insights.
