Power in Crisis: Politics in the 21st Century

On Monday 15th July, the Department of Politics and International Relations is launching its first ever online course - ‘Power in Crisis: Politics in the 21st Century’.

The course is designed and delivered by academics working in York’s Department of Politics and International Relations and is open to anyone. This massive open online course (MOOC), provides a great opportunity for those not currently studying in the department to understand some of the key issues that are impacting contemporary politics and shaping the world around us.

The course is delivered across three weeks of content that can be started at any time and is free to all. From the 15th July, two of the convenors, Dr Jeremy Moulton and Dr Chris Featherstone will be facilitating the course’s delivery for the first three-week run. The course will run continuously from this date.

Whilst the course is open to anyone, for those considering applying to study in the University of York’s Department of Politics and International Relations for the 2025/26 academic year, we will make alternative offers for some of our undergraduate degrees, including the completion of a MOOC for eligible applicants. This will include this MOOC.
