We have a short newsletter today but there’s still some great stuff below (not that I’m biased at all). This week we have the IGDC’s Annual Lecture, the opening of YUSU Departmental Rep nominations, and a new podcast from our Politics Society.
I hope you all have a fantastic week,
Jeremy Moulton (Learning Community Officer)
Wednesday 19th May 2pm
This year’s IGDC Annual Lecture will feature Prof. Heaven Crawley, who will be addressing the challenges of ‘walking the talk’ when it comes to decentering migration research. To learn more about this event and to reserve your ticket, check out the event page.
Becoming an Academic Rep will not only give you a chance to improve the experience for students at the University, but you’ll also gain some valuable skills. We have three levels of Academic Representation:
You can read descriptions for all roles on this page.
Reps make huge contributions to the shaping of our Department so do think about getting involved!
Our ever-active Politics Society has just launched a new podcast - The Political Duck. Hosted by Adam and Lucy, the podcast will ‘discuss current political issues, featuring guests awards and the occasional duck’.
Whilst I’m writing this week’s newsletter, I’m listening to an episode on the Green New Deal and am really enjoying it. So, I would thoroughly recommend giving it a listen!
