York Asia Research Network Annual Lecture: "Emotional subjects: Citizenship, identity and the emotional world of disability in China"
We are thrilled to announce the YARN Annual Lecture will be on 3 May at 5pm in the Berrick Saul Auditorium. Our speaker will be Professor Sarah Dauncey of the University of Nottingham, who has published extensively on gender, culture and identity in pre-modern, modern and contemporary China.
Most recently, she has pioneered a new field relating to disability in modern and contemporary Chinese culture and society.
The results of this project have resulted in numerous articles and book chapters, as well as a monograph – Disability in Contemporary China: Citizenship, Identity and Culture (Cambridge University Press, 2020).
