Dr Sabrina Fernandes is a Brazilian researcher and activist focused on political economy, social movements, and environmental politics. Her doctoral research covered social struggles in the run up to the collapse of the Brazilian Workers Part government in 2016. Dr Fernandes is now a post-doctoral researcher at the Rosa Luxemburg Foundation in Berlin as part of the International Research Group on Authoritarianism and Counter-Strategies.
Beyond her academic research, Dr Fernandes is a major figure in Brazilian activism and political education. Her YouTube Channel, Tese Onze (Thesis Eleven) has over four hundred thousand subscribers and is well known for raising awareness of contemporary political and environmental issues in Brazil. Dr Fernandes' political communication in English includes coverage of COP26 in Glasgow.
