Speaker(s): Professor Lucia Quaglia
On Wednesday (23rd October) at 6 pm in room ATB/035 Professor Lucia Quaglia from the Politics Department has agreed to give a talk about 'The Sovereign Debt Crisis in the Euroarea: what went wrong and why’ for The York European Union Society (YEUS), a new society on campus.
YEUS is the society for you if you have an interest in European politics or international relations (no matter how small or great). Equally, if you’re curious about the EU and want to learn more, we’re happy to welcome you all. Our aim as a society is to establish a space for lively and critical discussion around all aspects of the European Union. Such as specific EU related social, economic or environmental policy issues, or more philosophical questions about international democracy.
Our future plans are to be able to send YEUS members to some of the international conferences that are in connection with the European politics. In the near future we would also like to potentially hold a model European Union conference at the University of York. YEUS promises to be a fun, friendly and active society with an international element and a passion for stimulating debate.
For more information please join our Facebook group and like our Facebook page. If you would like to be added to our mailing list, please email yeus@yusu.org.
Hope to see you soon!
