York Centre for Social Justice and Democracy
Delivering world-leading research in key areas of political theory.
Home to a large number of theoretical and normative scholars including academic staff, postdoctoral researchers and PhD students who are broadly interested in issues of social justice and democracy.
York Centre for Social Justice and Democracy fosters interdisciplinary research among staff members in departments such as Politics and International Studies, English and Related Literature, History, Philosophy and Sociology. We build on our distinctive breadth and recognised strength in research around social justice and democracy.
Innovation, collaboration and impact lie at the core of the Centre’s identity.
Building strong interdisciplinary links with neighbouring subjects, we produce agenda-setting work on pressing global political and ethical questions, which have to do with social justice and democracy.
