PHD Research
YCCS hosts a range of PhD students conducting work broadly in the areas of Conflict and Security.
Currently we have students investigating:
- Effectiveness of the Economic Sanctions in Nuclear Non-proliferation.
- Neutrality of Omani Foreign Policy.
- China and ‘Belt and Road’ Initiative.
- Understanding the impact of state building interventions on legitimacy in post-conflict environments.
Centre staff have considerable experience supervising both quantitative and qualitative researchers having conducted fieldwork in conflict zones around the world as well as analysing large and complex conflict datasets. civil wars and separatist conflicts. We encourage applications from outstanding candidates who are committed to analysing major conflict and security challenges. Successful applicants will join and contribute to the vibrant research community of YCCS. We are particularly keen on supporting PhDs that fit within our research priorities.
