Open Innovation Team Partnership
We're continuing our existing partnership with the Open Innovation Team (OIT) based in Whitehall. The OIT is a cross-government unit that specialise in helping academics and other experts generate analysis and ideas for policy.
This partnership offers a host of benefits to York academics and professional support staff including:
- Policy masterclass training offering a comprehensive guide to how policy making works and how academics can influence policy change
- Policy schools delivered to our undergraduate politics community, practising skills on a live policy proposal and presenting to Whitehall policy makers
- Initiating and supporting collaborations matching academic research to the different needs of Whitehall departments and policymakers
- One to one impact clinics offering bespoke advice
- Storytelling sessions for academics to learn techniques to effectively communicate their research
- Hosting PhD placement students from our institution
