Passing of Dr Antonia Keung

We note with sadness the passing of our colleague Antonia Keung on 1 October 2024

Dr Antonia Keung's passing was announced by the university earlier this week.

Antonia’s research focused on fuel poverty and her work provided an early warning on the impacts of rising fuel prices on household incomes and raised awareness that larger families with children, and loneparent families with two or more children, are more likely to be experiencing fuel poverty, and exposed the detrimental impact that this can have for children and young people. Antonia’s research was a key driver in the formation of the Cost of Living Research Group.

Kate Pickett, Chair of the Cost of Living Research Group, said:

“Antonia was a much loved and valued member of our group and a highly respected voice within her field of research.

“Antonia’s commitment to her work on child poverty was an inspiration and essential in helping us form the cost of living research group.

“On behalf of our group, I’d like to extend my deepest sympathies to Antonia’s family. She will be missed by all who knew her.”
