All-Party Parliamentary Group (APPG) launch evidence hearing on cost of living crisis

The evidence hearing took place on 19 October. Professor Kate Pickett set the context for the session, outlining the challenges faced by children in the North of England. Dr Carolyn Snell, an expert on fuel poverty, and Dr Rachel Loopstra, an expert on food poverty from the University of Liverpool, shared statistics and policy suggestions.

The North East Poverty Commisssion and a Young Poverty Ambassador shared their experiences of the worsening poverty situation. The APPG will publish a report on the cost of living crisis in early 2023.
