Accreditation: Institution of Engineering and Technology
Many of the School’s Engineering courses have been accredited as approved training by the Institution of Engineering and Technology for nearly 30 years. We were recently awarded top scores in our latest accreditation for our taught masters (MSc) and electronics-based BEng and MEng programmes.
BEng stands for Bachelor of Engineering and MEng stands for Master of Engineering - as it incorporates a Masters degree within the qualification.
An accredited course is one which the IET counts as forming an acceptable part of the training requirements for Incorporated or Chartered Engineer status. Graduates with good degree results are automatically eligible to become Associate Members of the IET and become full members after gaining industrial experience. Only MEng courses now meet the requirements in full for Chartered Engineer and European Engineer (EUR ING) status.
