The fund is managed by the IOP - find out more on the IOP website.
Open to UK (home) students only.
In order to be eligible you must also have an offer for a place on this course: PhD Physics
The scholarship fund is to support full- or part-time graduates who wish to study towards a doctorate in physics, and are from groups that are currently under-represented in physics.
Application deadline: Sunday 8 December 2024, 5pm GMT
Please apply for PhD in Physics and specify in your PhD application that you would like to be considered for the Bell Burnell Graduate Scholarship Fund (BBGSF). You will need to include a one-page personal statement with your PhD application addressing the following:
1. Your reasons for wanting to study for a Doctorate
2. How you meet the BBGSF eligibility criteria clearly stating which underrepresented group you identify as
3. How you propose to gain benefit from a grant if awarded
4. How you would be an ambassador for the scheme
Please provide this by the deadline of Friday 8 December 2024. You should obtain the support of an academic member of staff and indicate a title project and supervisor in the statement.
