Register and come to a half-day of celebration and launches of activities in support of research bringing physical and life scientists together, now known by the Physics of Life.

The new Physics of Life Group at York celebrates its new dedicated facility – two floors of laboratories and workspaces where experimentalists and theoreticians working together with biologists co-locate their research.

The group is also running in collaboration with colleagues in Durham, Leeds and many other UK universities, the newly-announced £360k third phase of the UK-wide ‘Physics of Life Network+’, funded through EPSRC, BBSRC and MRC. Funding workshops, sandpits, summer schools and pump-priming research, the Network’s first activity in this new phase is a 2-day workshop on the Physics of Brains, immediately following this launch day. We are delighted to welcome Prof. William Bialek, a theoretical physicist who has made leading contributions to neuroscience, at both events.
