Fellowship support
We are pleased to offer support to both prospective and current Fellows at all stages of the Fellowship process.
Before you apply
Prior to submitting an application, we can offer:
- Introductions to members of our academic staff relevant to your proposed research area
- Advice on your proposal, including resource planning and costing, and mentoring from relevant staff members
- Feedback on draft proposals
- Support and practice sessions for interview preparation
The University also runs Preparing for Fellowship Success - a yearly programme in the Spring which provides additional support for Fellowship candidates. Please speak to the School to find out more about this programme.
During your Fellowship
Fellows within the School can also expect the following support throughout their fellowship:
- Mentoring from senior colleagues
- Additional funding to attend conferences and training events
- Access to world-class research facilities
- Career development support, including both training and teaching opportunities
- Support with future grant proposals
As a fellow at York, you’ll also become a member of the York Fellowship Community. The YFP can provide you with additional support, including:
- Regular social events, to meet other Fellows
- Bespoke training and professional development opportunities, tailored for Fellows
- 1:1 support from the University’s Fellowship Coordinator
- Additional funding, through our match fund request scheme (which allows Departments and the University to share additional costs not covered by funders).
If you have any questions about the YFP, please contact the University’s Fellowship Coordinator.
