Improved Multi-Antenna Detection Techniques for MIMO Wireless Communications

The main aim of this project is to develop novel detection techniques for MIMO systems, in particular, for OFDM and SC-FDMA systems in doubly-selective channels, that do not require explicit channel estimation. This approach to the signal detection has a potential of improved performance, but may require a higher complexity. The project will focus on the mathematical analysis of optimal detection and mismatched detection and then will involve simulation in MATLAB, in particular for MIMO LTE communications scenarios. The project will also focus on detection algorithms that can be practically implemented. This project is a continuation of the previous research at York, on optimal detection with imperfect channel estimation.

Expected outputs
