Quantifying Errors and Uncertainties in Computational Electromagnetic Simulations

The results of laboratory measurements require a determination of the uncertainty in the results before the results will be accepted by the scientific community. Computational Electromagnetism is often used to provide insight and data for Electromagnetic Compatibility measurements. Currently there is no method for determining the uncertainty in the results of Computational Electromagnetic simulations.

Our research aims to apply different Uncertainty Analysis methods to these simulations, to provide the quantitative level of confidence that may be held in the results of the simulations. By also applying Error Analyses to the same simulations, it is possible to determine the relationship between the errors and the uncertainties in the simulation.
