Ensemble Singing
Working closely with the Music Department at the University, in particular Robert Hollingworth’s MA in Solo voice ensemble Singing, conducting experiments into choral blend (including parameters such as tuning and vibrato), and impact of pedagogy in ensemble singing.
Acoustic analysis and electrolaryngography are employed to analyse aspects of voice that characterise good ensemble singing. This project also links with our work in interactive audio and virtual acoustics to control performance environments in our experimental work.
