Cooperative MIMO for Wireless Mesh Networks

The project will investigate the application of cooperative MIMO techniques to wireless mesh networks, allowing groups of nodes to cooperate to form "Virtual MIMO" transmitters/receivers, and thus helping to overcome the bottleneck that can otherwise limit the throughput of large wireless mesh networks. The project will make use of distributed source coding, wireless network coded modulation, and cooperative MIMO techniques, with iterative methods applied to detection, decoding and channel estimation at intermediate nodes. it will be carried out primarily by computer simulation in MatLab and/or C++.
