Biography

Dr. Maher is a Lecturer in Engineering Management at the School of Physics, Engineering, and Technology. His academic journey includes a PhD in ‘Intrapreneurship and Technology Innovation’ in 2022 and an IET-accredited MSc in ‘Engineering Management’ (Distinction) in 2018, both from the University of York. He also holds a BSc in Technology Engineering with a major in Communication Engineering.
His professional experience spans over twelve years in major multinational vendors and world-leading ICT companies; France telecom and Ericsson AB. He has held various engineering, technological, and leadership roles, including project lead, solution architect, and GSM core network integration engineer. His expertise lies in designing, integrating, and delivering Ericsson Solutions for GSM networks across many projects in various countries around the world.
At Solent Southampton University, Dr. Maher spent 18 months in different leadership and teaching roles. As a lecturer in Business Management, he taught across a range of modules and programmes, including undergraduate, postgraduate, and executive courses. He created and delivered new and highly contemporary modules in Enterprise, Entrepreneurship, and Innovation. His responsibilities included planning, designing, developing, and delivering high-quality teaching material in Business Management. His leadership roles included being a module leader for social enterprise, creative enterprise and innovation, and research methodology modules, a level leader for second-year BSc students in Business Management, and the programme director for the UK government-funded “Help
to Grow” programme for SMEs.
