Before starting at York, I was a Research Fellow at the University of Stirling. And before that, I did my PhD at Fitzwilliam College, Cambridge.
My main areas of research are philosophical logic, metaphysics and the history of early analytic philosophy. I am especially interested in Frege, Wittgenstein and Ramsey. I am absolutely certain that we still have a lot to learn from their work.
My current research project focusses on the logical distinction between objects and properties. My hope is that a better understanding of this distinction will allow us to dismiss many traditional problems in metaphysics as mere pseudo-problems.
