Our passion for research is embedded in our teaching. We offer modules that develop both subject-specific knowledge and practical research skills. This opens up a wide range of career paths for students while equipping them with knowledge and skills to make a difference in the world.

Our facilities

The Department of Sociology is based on Campus East in the Law and Sociology Building. Modern architecture mixes with lakes, trees and wildflower meadows to create a productive learning and research environment.

As a Sociology student, you'll have access to study spaces, our problem-based learning suite and the Sociology Lounge, which provides a space for staff and students to socialise.
