The debate will give students, staff and members of the public the opportunity to quiz James Alexander (Labour), Madeleine Kirk (Liberal Democrat) and Julian Sturdy (Conservative) on a range of issues.
Pro-Vice-Chancellor at the University of York, Professor Colin Mellors, said: “The new constituency of York Outer is a key battleground for the political parties in this region, and it also promises to be a barometer of their fortunes nationally.
"This debate will be a fascinating insight into local, regional and national issues.”

The event in the Bowland Auditorium, Berrick Saul building starts at 2.30pm on 28 April.
