Re-imagining York is a free course that will encourage students to use the city’s culture and heritage as inspiration for their own stories, poetry, drama and linked photo-studies.
The course is open to anybody and would be an ideal first step back into learning for people who have been out of education for some time

It will mix visits to cultural sites including galleries and museums with classroom-based workshops at the University campus.
Lizzi Linklater, the course leader, said: “We are fortunate to live and work in a city teeming with artistic works, historic buildings and artefacts and I hope this course will encourage the students to look at them from a fresh perspective.
“The course is open to anybody and would be an ideal first step back into learning for people who have been out of education for some time."
Re-imagining York is being run in association with Yorkshire Film Archive, York Museums Trust and York CVS and is supported by a grant from the Department of Business, Innovation and Skills Transformation Fund.
The eight-week course will start in October and be repeated again in January. More information is available by calling the University’s Centre for Lifelong Learning on (01904) 328473 or by emailing lifelonglearning@york.ac.uk.
