Over the next year, the Academy, which is accredited by Microsoft, is offering a new package of high quality advanced IT training for small and medium-sized businesses across North Yorkshire.
It already offers a programme of advanced IT training courses ranging from IT infrastructure, 3D design packages, web development and database integration to the complete Microsoft Official Syllabus, including the new Desktop Support Technician courses.
To make sure that cost is no barrier and to encourage people to improve their skills, IT Academy courses will be priced at a substantial discount

New courses are being developed to cover Sage (accounting, payroll, stock control), spreadsheets, databases, other advanced office skills and AutoCAD. Bespoke training can also be provided where there is a requirement (for example robotics control, or RFID).
IT Academy Manager Elaine Pollard said: "Deciding whether to spend money on training when there are so many other demands on the budget is difficult for any small business. So to make sure that cost is no barrier and to encourage people to improve their skills, IT Academy courses will be priced at a substantial discount - in the region of £100 for three days' training - not bad for a course that would normally cost at least five times the price!"
The venture has been made possible by generous funding from the Learning and Skills Council and the European Social Fund.
