More students than ever before graduate at the University of York

The highest number of students ever to graduate at York will receive their degrees at ceremonies on 8 and 9 July. In six ceremonies over two days, 2,400 students will graduate in the University's Central Hall on its Heslington campus.
The breakdown of awards is as follows:
- 218 students from the department of Health Studies will receive diplomas
- 1,416 students from all subject areas will receive first degrees (BA or BSc)
- 765 students will receive postgraduate degrees (masters or doctorates)
Details of the ceremonies are as follows:
Thursday 8 July
- 9.45am students in Economics, Environment, Health Studies and Health Sciences
- 12noon Chemistry, Mathematics, Politics, Women's Studies Honorary degrees: Greg Dyke and Bryan Sanderson
- 2.45pm Biology, Electronics, Psychology. Honorary degrees: Dr Ray Dolby, Professor Elizabeth Warrington
Friday 9 July
- 9.45am Archaeology, Architecture, Computer Science, Educational Studies, Language. Honorary degree: Dr Seamus Hegarty
- 12noon English, History, History of Art, Medieval Studies. Honorary degree: Helena Kennedy
- 2.45pm Business Management, Music, Philosophy, Physics, PEP (Philosophy, Economics, Politics), Social Policy and Social Work, Sociology. Honorary degrees: Elgar Howarth, Professor David Lewis
