Italian Finance Minister visits his alma mater

Italy's Finance Minister, Vincenzo Visco, will be guest of honour at a University of York reception on Saturday 21 March. Mr Visco took a postgraduate degree in Economics at York in 1970 and is attending the mmeting of European Economic and Finance Minsters (ECOFIN) in York from 20 to 22 March.

The Department of Economics is hosting a reception in honour of Mr Visco at the historic King's Manor, part of the University of York. Prior to the reception, Mr Visco will give a lecture on 'The Recent Fiscal Reform Package in Italy'. During the day, the Department of Economics and the Royal Economic Society are hosting a conference on EMU and the EU for European postgraduate students.
